System and method for processing package delivery

A system, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory storing code that when executed causes the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
• receiving electronic package information associated with a package to be delivered by a package carrier, the electronic package information determined by a radio frequency identification mechanism;
• determining an addressee associated with the package requires delivery authorization;
• sending an electronic notification associated with the package to a network address associated with the addressee;
• receiving an electronic message sent from the network address in response to the electronic notification;
• generating an electronic database having electronic data fields containing information determined from segments parsed from the electronic message;
• electronically comparing the electronic package information to the electronic data fields containing the information determined from the segments parsed from the electronic message;
• determining a match between the electronic package information and at least one of the electronic data fields containing the information determined from the segments parsed from the electronic message;
• and
• confirming delivery of the package to the addressee in response to the match.

A memory device storing code that when executed causes a processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• receiving electronic package information associated with a package to be delivered by a package carrier, the electronic package information determined by a radio frequency identification mechanism;
• determining an addressee associated with the package requires delivery authorization;
• sending an electronic notification associated with the package to a network address associated with the addressee;
• receiving an electronic message sent from the network address in response to the electronic notification;
• generating an electronic database having electronic data fields containing information determined from segments parsed from the electronic message;
• electronically comparing the electronic package information to the electronic data fields containing the information determined from the segments parsed from the electronic message;
• determining a match between the electronic package information and at least one of the electronic data fields containing the information determined from the segments parsed from the electronic message;
• and
• confirming delivery of the package to the addressee in response to the match.
