Imaging protocol update and/or recommender

A system, comprising:

• storage medium that stores computer readable instructions for at least one of updating an existing imaging protocol or creating a new imaging protocol;
• and
• one or more processors, which execute the computer readable instructions, wherein the stored computer readable instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processor to obtain clinical indications for previously performed medical imaging procedures, types of the previously performed imaging procedures, and parameters used for the previously performed imaging procedures, and generate at least one of an update recommendation for a protocol corresponding to one of the previously performed medical imaging procedures, or a candidate new medical imaging protocol;
• wherein the one or more processors generate the update recommendation for the protocol based on statistics about deviations between the obtained information for the previously performed medical imaging procedures and existing medical imaging protocols corresponding to the previously performed medical imaging procedures, and the deviations include at least one of a difference between at least one of:
• at least one of the imaging parameters in the set of imaging parameters, a type of imaging procedure, or at least one of the clinical indications.
