Abstract
The present invention provides methods of regulating plant stress tolerance.
Claims23
A plant comprising a heterologous expression cassette, the expression cassette comprising a drought-inducible or tissue specific promoter operably linked to a polynucleotide encoding a PYR/PYL receptor polypeptide, wherein the PYR/PYL receptor polypeptide comprises SEQ ID NO:95 and further comprises SEQ ID NO:102 and is at least 95% identical to any of SEQ ID NOs:84-90, wherein the plant has improved drought tolerance compared to a plant lacking the expression cassette.
An expression cassette comprising a heterologous drought-inducible or tissue specific promoter operably linked to a polynucleotide encoding a PYR/PYL receptor polypeptide, wherein the PYR/PYL receptor polypeptide comprises SEQ ID NO:95 and further comprises SEQ ID NO:102 and is at least 95% identical to any of SEQ ID NOs:84-90, wherein introduction of the expression cassette into a plant results in the plant having improved drought tolerance compared to a plant lacking the expression cassette.
