Glass enamel for automotive applications

An enamel composition comprising a solid portion comprising a frit portion, wherein the frit portion, prior to firing, consists essentially of:

• about 22 to about 42.5 wt. % of SiO2;
• about 2 to about 28 wt. % of Nb2O5;
• about 2.5 to about 11.3 wt. % of Na2O;
• about 4 to about 20 wt. % of B2O3;
• about 10 to about 35 wt. % of ZnO;
• about 2.2 to about 6 wt. % of TiO2;
• about 6 to about 24 wt. % of MoO3;
• about 0 to about 5.5 wt. % of ZrO2;
• about 0 to about 8 wt. % of Y2O3;
• about 0 to about 5 wt. % of Al2O3;
• about 0.5 to about 3.5 wt. % of Li2O;
• about 0.4 to about 1.4 wt. % of K2O;
• and
• no Bi2O3.
