Skin lightening compositions

A composition for lightening or depigmenting skin, comprising from about 0.00005 weight percent to about 0.5 weight percent of (3-(cyanomethyl)-2-methyl-8-phenylmethoxy-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine);

• and
• a sun protection agent;
• formulated into a topically applicable, cosmetically or dermatologically acceptable vehicle, carrier or diluent therefor wherein the composition for lightening or depigmenting skin is in the form of an emulsion, an anhydrous composition, an aqueous-based solution, a suspension, a dispersion, a lotion, a serum, an essence, a milk, a cream, a gel, a paste, an ointment, a spray, a stick, a mousse, an aerosol or microcapsules.
