Abstract
Wireless multi-site capacity coordination includes calculating a total interference impact metric for a reference cell, determining a distribution of power resources for the reference cell and a plurality of neighboring cells, and allocating the power resources to sub-bands for the reference cell and the plurality of neighboring cells. Calculating the total interference impact metric may include determining a number of resources assigned to a reference cell within time period T, and calculating user equipment (UE) interference metrics for each UE attached to each of a plurality of neighboring cells which have UE which experience interference from the reference cell attached.
Claims25
A system in a wireless communication network, the system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a non-transitory computer readable medium with computer executable instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the processor, perform the following method:
- calculating a total interference impact metric for a reference cell based on an interference impact of the reference cell on a plurality of User Equipment (UE) attached to cells that neighbor the reference cell;
- determining a distribution of power resources for the reference cell and the plurality of neighboring cells using the total interference impact metric;
- and
- allocating the power resources to sub-bands for the reference cell and the plurality of neighboring cells,
- wherein calculating the total interference impact metric for the reference cell comprises:
- determining a total number of active UEs for each neighboring cell;
- calculating an active user multiple for each neighboring cell based on the respective total number of active UEs for each neighboring cell.
A method for a wireless communication network, the method comprising:
- calculating, by a network controller, a total interference impact metric for a reference cell based on an interference impact of the reference cell on a plurality of User Equipment (UE) attached to cells that neighbor the reference cell by:
- determining a total number of active UEs for each neighboring cell;
- and
- calculating an active user multiple for each neighboring cell based on the respective total number of active UEs for each neighboring cell;
- determining a distribution of power resources for the reference cell and the plurality of neighboring cells using the total interference impact metric;
- allocating the power resources to sub-bands for the reference cell and the plurality of neighboring cells;
- and
- determining a number of UEs to assign to each sub-band of the reference cell and the plurality of neighboring cells.
A non-transitory computer readable medium with computer executable instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the processor, perform the following method:
- calculating a total interference impact metric for a reference cell based on an interference impact of the reference cell on a plurality of User Equipment (UE) attached to cells that neighbor the reference cell by:
- determining a total number of active UEs for each neighboring cell;
- and
- calculating an active user multiple for each neighboring cell based on the respective total number of active UEs for each neighboring cell;
- determining a distribution of power resources for the reference cell and the plurality of neighboring cells using the total interference impact metric;
- allocating the power resources to sub-bands for the reference cell and the plurality of neighboring cells;
- and
- determining a number of UEs to assign to each sub-band of the reference cell and the plurality of neighboring cells.
