Abstract
Methods and apparatuses are provided for transmitting control information to a terminal, by a base station, in a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) mobile communication system. The control information is generated including a field indicating either a precoding scheme or a pilot format according to a type of pilot used for data demodulation in the terminal. The control information is transmitted to the terminal.
Claims15
A method for transmitting control information to a terminal, by a base station, in a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) mobile communication system, the method comprising:
- generating the control information including a field indicating either a precoding scheme or a pilot format according to a type of pilot used for data demodulation in the terminal, the field having a size capable of carrying both a MIMO transmission rank and an index mapping a precoding matrix corresponding to the precoding scheme and a number of transmission layers;
- and
- transmitting the control information to the terminal.
A base station for transmitting control information to a terminal in a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) mobile communication system, the base station comprising:
- a controller for generating the control information including a field indicating either a precoding scheme or a pilot format according to a type of pilot used for data demodulation in the terminal, the field having a size capable of carrying both a MIMO transmission rank and an index mapping a precoding matrix corresponding to the precoding scheme and a number of transmission layers;
- and
- a transceiver for transmitting the control information to the terminal.
A method for receiving control information in a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) mobile communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving the control information including a field indicating either a precoding scheme or a pilot format according to a type of pilot used for data demodulation, from a base station, the field having a size capable of carrying both a MIMO transmission rank and an index mapping a precoding matrix corresponding to the precoding scheme and a number of transmission layers;
- and
- performing a MIMO receiving process using parameters obtained according to the field.
