Abstract
The invention provides seed and plants of tomato hybrid DRD 8579 and the parent lines thereof. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of tomato hybrid DRD 8579 and the parent lines thereof, and to methods for producing a tomato plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another tomato plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such plants, including the fruit and gametes of such plants.

A tomato plant of hybrid DRD 8579, a sample of seed of said hybrid having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-13104.
A seed of hybrid DRD 8579, a sample of seed of said hybrid having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-13104.
A method of producing a plant comprising an added trait, the method comprising introducing a transgene conferring the trait into a plant of hybrid DRD 8579, a sample of seed of said hybrid having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-13104.
A method for producing a seed of a plant derived from hybrid DRD 8579 comprising the steps of:
- (a) crossing a tomato plant of hybrid DRD 8579 with itself or a second tomato plant;
- a sample of seed of said hybrid having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-13104;
- and
- (b) allowing seed of a hybrid DRD 8579-derived tomato plant to form.
