Abstract
Substituted indole derivatives of formula (I) wherein the radicals have e. g. the following meaning: R1 is hydrogen, —C1-6-alkyl, R2 is hydrogen, —C1-6-alkyl or cycloC3-12-alkyl; R3 is OR R4 is hydrogen or halogen, R5 is hydrogen, —C1-6-alkyl R6 is hydrogen, —C1-6-alkyl R is hydrogen or —C1-6-alkyl; X is a group —C(O)CH2— or —CH═CH—; R7 is hydrogen are potent inhibitors of Abeta peptide polymerization and can be used for the treatment of e.g. Alzheimers disease or ocular disorders.

A compound of formula (I)
- wherein
- R1 is hydrogen, —C1-6-alkyl, —C(O)—R or —C(O)OR;
- R2 is hydrogen, —C1-6-alkyl or cycloC3-12-alkyl;
- R3 is —OR, —NHR or —NR2;
- R4 is hydrogen, halogen, cyano, trifluoromethyl, or —C1-6-alkyl;
- R5 is —C1-6-alkyl;
- R6 is —C1-6-alkyl;
- or
- R5 and R6 together with the carbon atoms carrying them form a cyclic system with 3 to 6 carbon atoms;
- R is hydrogen, —C1-6-alkyl, or —C6-10-aryl;
- X is a group —C(O)CH2—, —CH(OH)CH2—, —CH═CH— or —CH2—NH—C(O)—;
- R7 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, propyl or cyclopropyl;
- or an optical isomer or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
