Anoscope for ano-rectal diagnostic and surgery

A surgical device comprising:

• an anoscope including a hollow body and a plurality of distally extending protrusions extending from the hollow body;
• an internal component including a hollow body and being adapted to be inserted into the hollow body of the anoscope, the internal component defining a plurality of grooves, each of the grooves being positioned to receive one of the plurality of distally extending protrusions of the anoscope when the internal component is inserted into the hollow body such that the device defines a smooth external surface;
• and
• an external component including a hollow body and two wings attached to the hollow body of the external component, the anoscope being configured and dimensioned for insertion into the external component;
• wherein the internal component and the external component include corresponding structure configured and dimensioned for engagement to inhibit relative rotation between the internal component and the external component.
