Method and apparatus for controlling uplink transmit power with optimum delay

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer executable code, comprising:

• code for receiving a transmit power control command;
• code for determining a time slot of the transmit power control command within a current sub-frame;
• code for determining a delay for decoding the transmit power control command based on the time slot within the current subframe;
• and
• code for decoding the transmit power control command, after the delay, using a transmit power control command decoding graph with a one subframe delay in an immediately subsequent subframe when the determined time slot is not the last time slot within the current subframe.

An apparatus for controlling uplink transmit power, comprising:

• means for receiving a transmit power control command;
• means for determining a time slot of the transmit power control command within a current subframe;
• means for determining a delay for decoding the transmit power control command based on the time slot within the current subframe;
• and
• means for decoding the transmit power control command, after the delay, using a transmit power control command decoding graph with a one subframe delay in an immediately subsequent subframe when the determined time slot is not the last time slot within the current subframe.

An apparatus for controlling uplink transmit power, comprising:

• at least one memory;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• receive a transmit power control command;
• determine a time slot of the transmit power control command within a current subframe;
• determine a delay for decoding the transmit power control command based on the time slot within the current subframe, and
• decode the transmit power control command, after the delay, using a transmit power control command decoding graph with a one subframe delay in an immediately subsequent subframe when the determined time slot is not the last time slot within the current subframe.
