Suspension system for micro-speakers

A micro-speaker assembly comprising:

• a frame;
• a magnet assembly positioned within the frame;
• a sound radiating surface suspended over the magnet assembly, the sound radiating surface having a top face and a bottom face, and wherein the bottom face faces the magnet assembly;
• a suspension member for suspending the sound radiating surface over the magnet assembly, wherein the suspension member extends in a z-height direction from the bottom face of the sound radiating surface toward a support member, and wherein the suspension member comprises a top side attached to the bottom face of the sound radiating surface and a bottom side, and wherein the top side and the bottom side are aligned in the z-height direction and confined to an area below the bottom face of the sound radiating surface;
• and
• a voice coil extending from the bottom face of the sound radiating surface.
