Abstract
A method includes creating, at a media server, a media stream that includes a group of segments of media content associated with a user-selected category. The group of segments includes a first segment corresponding to a portion of a first program and a second segment corresponding to a portion of a second program. The method also includes sending at least a portion of the media stream to a user device. The method further includes, during playback of the media stream, receiving a user input indicating the first segment, and sending a modified stream to the user device based on the user input. The first segment is replaced by an entirety of the first program in the modified stream.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- creating, at a media server, a media stream that includes a group of segments of media content associated with a user-selected category, wherein the group of segments includes a first segment corresponding to a portion of a first program and includes a second segment corresponding to a portion of a second program;
- sending at least a portion of the media stream to a user device;
- during playback of the media stream, receiving a user input indicating the first segment;
- and
- sending a modified stream to the user device based on the user input, wherein the first segment is replaced by an entirety of the first program in the modified stream,
- wherein the modified stream includes the entirety of the first program prior to the second segment.
A computer-readable storage device including instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
- creating a media stream that includes a group of segments of media content associated with a user-selected category, wherein the group of segments includes a first segment corresponding to a portion of a first program and a second segment corresponding to a portion of a second program;
- sending at least a portion of the media stream to a user device;
- during playback of the media stream, receiving a user input indicating the first segment;
- and
- sending a modified stream to the user device based on the user input, wherein the first segment is replaced by an entirety of the first program in the modified stream,
- wherein the modified stream includes the entirety of the first program prior to the second segment.
A system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory, the memory including instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to execute operations comprising:
- creating a media stream that includes a group of segments of media content associated with a user-selected category, wherein the group of segments includes a first segment corresponding to a portion of a first program and a second segment corresponding to a portion of a second program;
- sending at least a portion of the media stream to a user device;
- during playback of the media stream, receiving a user input indicating the first segment;
- and
- sending a modified stream to the user device based on the user input, wherein the first segment is replaced by an entirety of the first program in the modified stream, wherein the modified stream includes the entirety of the first program prior to the second segment.
