System and method for a wireless display low power managed adapter

A non-transitory computer-readable medium including code for performing a method, the method comprising:

• establishing a wireless data communication link between a host system and a wireless display adapter, wherein the wireless display adapter is coupled to a display;
• determining whether first information is to be transmitted over the wireless data communication link;
• transferring the first information over the wireless data communication link in response to determining that the first information is to be transmitted over the wireless data communication link;
• and
• turning off the wireless data communication link in response to determining that the first information is not to be transmitted over the wireless data communication link;
• wherein the first information comprises less than a full frame of data for the display.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium including code for performing a method, the method comprising:

• establishing a first wireless data communication link between a host system and a mobile device;
• retrieving, from the mobile device, a predefined set-up over the first wireless data communication link, wherein the predefined set-up defines a set-up parameter for a second wireless data communication link between the host system and a wireless display adapter, and wherein the wireless display adapter is separate from the mobile device;
• applying the predefined set-up to the second wireless data communication link in response to retrieving the predefined set-up;
• and
• establishing the second wireless data communication link between the host system and the wireless display adapter in response to applying the predefined set-up.
