Abstract
An image processing apparatus includes: a processor configured to: store information on a reference area that has been extracted from a first image not including a target object by using a condition regarding color, generate, by using the condition, information on a target area in a second image that has been captured at a point in time different from a point in time at which the first image has been captured, determine, by using the target area and the reference area, whether or not there is an overlap between the reference area and the target object, when the overlap exists, identify an overlap area, and extract, by using the difference area between the reference area and the target area, and the overlap area, the target object from the second image.
Claims15
An image processing apparatus for identifying a target area of a target object in an image, the image processing apparatus comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory and configured to:
- receive a reference image,
- store, into the memory, reference area information of a reference area, the reference area being extracted from the reference image using a color condition,
- receive the image,
- generate specific area information of specific area in the image, the specific area being extracted from the image using the color condition and including the reference area and the target area,
- determine whether or not there is an overlap between the reference area and the target object based on the reference area information and the specific area information,
- when the overlap does not exist, identify the target area corresponding to a difference area between the specific area and the reference area, and
- when the overlap exists, extract an overlap area corresponding to a part of the target object overlapping the reference area from the image based on color information of the reference area and another color information of the specific area, identify the target area corresponding to the difference area and the overlap area, and perform edge detection only in the identified target area.
An image processing method for identifying a target area of a target object in an image that is executed by a computer, the image processing method comprising:
- receiving a reference image,
- storing, into a memory, reference area information of a reference area, the reference area being extracted from the reference image using a color condition;
- generating specific target area information of specific area in the image, the specific area being extracted from the image using the color condition and including the reference area and the target area;
- determining whether or not there is an overlap between the reference area and the target object based on the reference area information and the specific area information;
- when the overlap does not exist, identifying the target area corresponding to a difference area between the specific area and the reference area;
- and
- when the overlap exists, extracting an overlap area corresponding to a part of the target object overlapping the reference area from the image based on color information of the reference area and another color information of the specific area, identifying the target area corresponding to the difference area and the overlap area, and performing edge detection only in the identified target area.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing an image processing program for causing a computer to execute a process for identifying a target area of a target object in an image, the process comprising:
- receiving a reference image,
- storing, into a memory, reference area information of a reference area, the reference area being extracted from the reference image using a color condition;
- generating specific target area information of specific area in the image, the specific area being extracted from the image using the color condition and including the reference area and the target area;
- determining whether or not there is an overlap between the reference area and the target object based on the reference area information and the specific area information;
- when the overlap does not exist, identifying the target area corresponding to a difference area between the specific area and the reference area;
- and
- when the overlap exists, extracting an overlap area corresponding to a part of the target object overlapping the reference area from the image based on color information of the reference area and another color information of the specific area, identifying the target area corresponding to the difference area and the overlap area, and performing edge detection only in the identified target area.
