Abstract
The present invention provides novels genes encoding methyl butenol (MBO) synthase, methy butenol synthases and their use in methyl butenol production.

An isolated and purified methyl butenol (MBO) synthase cDNA molecule, wherein the MBO synthase cDNA molecule comprises any one of SEQ ID NOs:
- 3-7 or a nucleic acid molecule having at least 95% sequence identity thereof.
An isolated and purified methyl butenol (MBO) synthase cDNA, wherein the MBO synthase cDNA comprises SEQ ID NOs:3-7.
