Web and method for making fluid filled units

A web for forming dunnage units, comprising:

• a first elongated layer having an inflation edge and an opposite edge;
• a second elongated layer having an inflation edge and an opposite edge, wherein the second elongated layer is superposed over the first elongated layer;
• a frangible line of connection disposed in only one of the first and second elongated layers, the frangible line of connection being substantially parallel to the inflation edge and offset from the inflation edge;
• a plurality of transverse seals between the first and second elongated layers extending from the opposite edges to a seal termination point, wherein said transverse seals form a plurality of adjacent inflatable pouches;
• and
• a plurality of lines of weakness that allow the inflatable pouches to be separated, the lines of weakness beginning at a starting point transversely located between the inflation edges and the seal termination point and extend toward the opposite edges, wherein the starting point of the lines of weakness is between 0.250 and 0.375 inches from the inflation edge.
