Abstract
A disc screen includes a shaft, a first disc mounted on the shaft, and a second disc mounted on the shaft. An interfacial opening (IFO) extends between the first disc and the second disc. A width of the IFO as measured between the first disc and the second disc varies according to a rotational position of the shaft.
Claims20
A disc for a material separation screen, comprising:
- a first side;
- a second side located on an opposite side of the disc as the first side;
- and
- a contact surface adjoining both the first side and the second side, wherein a width of the contact surface linearly decreases along a perimeter of the disc to a minimum contact surface width, wherein the width of the contact surface linearly increases along the perimeter of the disc to a maximum contact surface width, and wherein the width of the contact surface varies between the minimum contact surface width and the maximum contact surface width around the entire perimeter of the disc.

A disc screen, comprising:
- a shaft;
- a first disc mounted on the shaft, wherein the first disc comprises:
- a first side;
- a second side located on an opposite side of the first disc as the first side;
- and
- a contact surface adjoining the first side of the disc and the second side of the disc, wherein a width of the contact surface linearly decreases along a perimeter of the disc to a minimum contact surface width, wherein the width of the contact surface linearly increases along the perimeter of the disc to a maximum contact surface width, and wherein the width of the contact surface varies between the minimum contact surface width and the maximum contact surface width around the entire perimeter of the disc;
- and
- a second disc mounted on the shaft, wherein an interfacial opening (IFO) extends between the first disc and the second disc, and wherein a width of the IFO as measured between the first disc and the second disc varies according to a rotational position of the shaft.
