Abstract
A method for treating a consumer article wherein a treating chemistry is activated or deactivated by the introduction of steam.
Claims10
A method of treating a utensil in a dishwasher having a tub defining a treating chamber in which is located a rack for holding the utensil during treatment, the method comprising:
- supporting the utensil in the rack;
- applying a treating chemistry having at least one enzyme having an enzyme deactivation temperature onto the utensil by spraying the treating chemistry into the treating chamber;
- and
- introducing steam into the treating chamber to raise the temperature of the treating chemistry on the utensil to the enzyme deactivation temperature.
