Abstract
An assembly for supporting a motor of a vehicle powertrain includes a housing, a stator secured to the housing, a bearing having a radial position established by the housing, a member contacting the bearing, and a rotor secured to the member and including a radial outer surface spaced radially from the stator by an air gap established by contact between the bearing and the member.
Claims14
An assembly for supporting a motor, comprising:
- a housing;
- transmission gearing;
- a torque converter with a stator shaft fixed to the housing coaxial with a transmission input shaft;
- a motor stator secured to the housing between the torque converter and the gearing;
- a bearing having a radial position established by the stator shaft;
- an output hub contacting the bearing;
- a rotor secured to the output hub and including a radial outer surface spaced radially from the motor stator by an air gap established by contact between the bearing and the output hub.

An assembly for supporting a motor, comprising:
- a housing;
- a torque converter;
- transmission gearing;
- a motor stator secured to the housing between the torque converter and the gearing;
- a bearing mounted to the housing;
- a clutch input hub having a radial position established by contact with the bearing;
- a second bearing having a radial position established by contact with the clutch input hub;
- a rotor shaft contacting the second bearing;
- an output hub mounted to the rotor shaft;
- a rotor secured to the output hub to secure a gap between the motor stator and the rotor.

An assembly for supporting a motor, comprising:
- a housing;
- a torque converter;
- transmission gearing;
- a stator motor secured to the housing between the torque converter and the gearing;
- a pump housing located axially between the motor stator and the gearing and coaxial with a transmission input shaft;
- a bearing having radial and axial positions established by contact with the pump housing;
- an output hub in contact with the bearing;
- a rotor secured to the output hub defining a gap between the rotor and the motor stator.
