Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a method for inducing an antigen-specific immune response to an antigen in a mammal in need thereof, or potentiating an immune response, by administering to the mammal an effective amount of an isolated Ov-ASP, or at least one subunit of Ov-ASP.
Claims7
A method of potentiating an antigen-specific immune response to an antigen in a mammal in need thereof, said method comprising:
- administering to said mammal an immunogenic composition comprising an immune response-potentiating effective amount of an isolated Onchocerca volvulus activation-associated secreted protein (Ov-ASP) adjuvant and an effective amount an isolated antigen unrelated to the Ov-ASP, wherein the isolated Ov-ASP comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 or an amino acid sequence comprising amino acids 14-223 of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 and wherein the antigen is an antigen against which the mammal is in need of said immune response.
