Abstract
In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for systems and methods that employ a control component and/or power source integrated in an LED based light source to control and/or power the LED light source wirelessly. In embodiments, the LED based light source may take the form of a standard light bulb that plugs into a standard lighting socket or fixture.
Claims24
An emergency lighting detection apparatus comprising:
- an electric power interface to be placed in electrical communication with an emergency lighting circuit;
- a detector configured to detect, via the electric power interface, an application of electric power to the emergency lighting circuit;
- and
- a transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit a first control signal to at least one wireless lighting module to turn on the at least one wireless lighting module in response to the detector detecting an application of electric power to the emergency lighting circuit.
1 more element
An emergency lighting system configured to provide wireless control to a remote wireless light source, the emergency lighting system comprising:
- a lighting device including a first light source, a device controller and an emergency lighting detection apparatus including a wireless transmitter configured to transmit a power loss signal in response to detection of an absence of power from a first power source input;
- and
- at least one wireless lighting module including a second light source, a wireless receiver, and a module controller configured to selectively control application of power from an emergency power source input to the second light source in response to detection of the power loss signal provided by the emergency lighting detection apparatus.
