Abstract
The present invention relates to a runflat device (2), particularly, but not exclusively, a combined runflat and double sided beadlock that can be fitted to any size and type of wheel (1) regardless of the shape and depth of the wheel well (10). The runflat device (2) can be fitted using standard tools and tightened through manipulation of a valve assembly (52).
Claims34
A runflat device arranged to be disposed on a wheel inside a tire, the runflat device comprising:
- a body having a length which, in use, extends around a circumference of the wheel;
- a valve assembly;
- and
- a retraction mechanism connected to the valve assembly,
- wherein rotation of the valve assembly causes the runflat device to be tightened onto the wheel by the retraction mechanism.
A runflat device comprising a number of discrete segments connectable together to form a chain which, in use, runs around a circumference of a wheel, wherein the discrete segments are drawn together by rotating a valve assembly.
