Abstract
In a developing assembly, the surface of a developer bearing member on which a developer is borne is provided with a first dielectric portion and a second dielectric portion. A regulating portion that regulates the layer thickness of the developer borne on the developer bearing member, the first dielectric portion, and the second dielectric portion each have a charge polarity opposite to the charge polarity of the developer. In a triboelectric series, one of the first dielectric portion and the second dielectric portion is positioned between the developer and the other dielectric portion, and the other dielectric portion is positioned between the one of the dielectric portions and the regulating portion.
Claims15
A developing assembly comprising:
- a container that contains a developer;
- a developer bearing member that bears the developer;
- and
- a regulating portion that regulates a layer thickness of the developer borne on the developer bearing member,
- wherein a surface of the developer bearing member on which the developer is borne is provided with a first dielectric portion and a second dielectric portion, and
- the regulating portion, the first dielectric portion, and the second dielectric portion each have a charge polarity opposite to a charge polarity of the developer, and in a triboelectric series, one of the first dielectric portion and the second dielectric portion is positioned between the developer and the other dielectric portion, and the other dielectric portion is positioned between the one dielectric portion and the regulating portion.
An image-forming apparatus comprising:
- an image bearing member that bears an electrostatic latent image;
- a container that contains a developer;
- a developer bearing member that bears the developer;
- a regulating portion that regulates a layer thickness of the developer borne on the developer bearing member;
- and
- first voltage applying means for applying a voltage to the developer bearing member,
- wherein a surface of the developer bearing member on which the developer is borne is provided with a first dielectric portion and a second dielectric portion,
- the regulating portion, the first dielectric portion, and the second dielectric portion each have a charge polarity opposite to a charge polarity of the developer, and in a triboelectric series, one of the first dielectric portion and the second dielectric portion is positioned between the developer and the other dielectric portion, and the other dielectric portion is positioned between the one dielectric portion and the regulating portion, and
- the electrostatic latent image is developed with the developer to form an image on a recording medium.
