Abstract
The present invention relates to phosphorus-containing triazine compounds of the formula (I) and (III) and to the polymers obtainable from the water-eliminating polycondensation of a compound of the formula (II), and to the use thereof as flame retardants.

A polymer obtainable from the water-eliminating polycondensation of a monomeric compound of the formula (II)
- where
- (A-H)+ is a radical of the formula (IV)
- in which X is H, CN, C(NH)NH2, C(O)NH2, C(NH)NHCN, or a condensation product thereof;
- c is 0, 1, 2 or 3;
- or a salt thereof.
