Abstract
A pallet including a deck, a frame and one or more elements. The deck is for carrying cargo. The frame is about a perimeter of the pallet and is formed of horizontally extending tubular portions. The elements support the frame above a support surface to overlie one or more openings for receiving the tines of a lifting device. The tubular portions include lengthwise corrugations.
Claims20
A method of moving a pallet, the method comprising selecting a pallet comprising:
- two side edges;
- two end edges;
- a horizontally extending member running along one of the end edges;
- elements for supporting the horizontally extending member above a support surface to define two openings spaced from each other so as to facilitate receiving tines of a forklift;
- one of the openings having sides defined by two of the elements, the two of the elements defining upwardly diverging load paths such that weight carried by the pallet tensions a portion of the horizontally extending member intermediate the two of the elements;
- and
- the other of the openings having sides defined by another two of the elements, the other two of the elements defining upwardly diverging load paths such that weight carried by the pallet tensions a portion of the horizontally extending member intermediate the other two of the elements;
- a respective further element at each of the side edges to further support the horizontally extending member above the support surface, wherein each of the further elements is upwardly directed, the two of the elements and the other two of the elements being inward of the respective further element with respect to the side edges;
- and
- inserting the tines of the forklift into the openings.

- and inserting the tines of the forklift into the openings.
