Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods and devices for repairing articular surfaces in a knee joint. The articular surface repairs are customizable or highly selectable for each patient and geared toward providing optimal fit and function. Kits are also provided to enable customized repairs to be performed.
Claims20
An orthopedic implant comprising:
- a femoral implant having a non-custom inner bone-engaging surface including one or more planar surfaces configured for engagement with femoral bone cuts prepared for a femoral implant;
- and an anterior femoral flange of the orthopedic implant configured to have a patient-specific shape and closely match a corresponding portion of a femur of a specific patient from a three-dimensional digital image of a patient's joint using computer modeling.
An orthopedic implant comprising:
- a femoral implant having a non-custom inner bone-engaging surface including one or more planar surfaces configured for engagement with femoral bone cuts prepared for a femoral implant;
- and an orientation of a patella track of the orthopedic implant configured to be patient-specific and closely match a corresponding orientation of a patella track of a femur of a specific patient from a three-dimensional digital image of a patient's joint using computer modeling.
An orthopedic implant comprising:
- a femoral implant having a non-custom inner bone-engaging surface including one or more planar surfaces configured for engagement with femoral bone cuts prepared for a femoral implant;
- and a shape of a patella track of the orthopedic implant configured to be patient-specific and closely match a corresponding shape of a patella track of a femur of a specific patient from a three-dimensional digital image of a patient's joint using computer modeling.
