Fiber reinforced composite stents

A method of making a stent comprising:

• providing a tube comprising a woven structure including composite fibers, wherein the composite fibers comprise a first polymer and a second polymer,
• wherein the first polymer and the second polymer are bioabsorbable,
• wherein the first polymer has a Vicat softening temperature (Ts) lower than a Ts of the second polymer;
• heating the tube to a temperature range between the Ts of the first polymer and the Ts of the second polymer, wherein the temperature range is below a melting temperature of the first polymer and the second polymer;
• and
• applying pressure to the tube so as to flatten at least some of the fibers of the tube to reduce a radial profile of the tube.
