System for wireless mesh network communication

A system of one or more communication devices employing packet message transmission and usable in a wireless mesh network, the system comprising:

• a slave communication device in communication with a control communication device in the mesh network, the slave communication device,
• receiving a message including one or more first data packets received from a parent device and conveying data representing a parent device address of the parent device,
• employing a first routing method through the parent device for sending a response message to a destination using the received parent device address, and
• in response to failure of the first routing method, employing a second predetermined routing method for sending the response message to the destination.

A method employed by a communication device for providing a packetized message for communication in a wireless mesh network of communication devices, including at least a single control communication device and a plurality of slave communication devices, comprising:

• providing a plurality of data packets including,
• (a) one or more first packets including data representing a virtual routing identifier reflecting a distance of a slave communication device from the control communication device, expressed by a number of routings and
• (b) one or more second packets including data representing a time duration of a time slot;
• and
• incorporating the one or more first and second packets into a packetized data structure including received data packets from the mesh network, for further routing in a time slot determined in response to a difference between the virtual routing identifier of the slave communication device and a virtual routing identifier of a sending communication device and the time duration.
