Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of communications technologies and provides a relay node handover method. The method includes: receiving, by a target base station, a handover request sent by a source base station serving a relay node; acquiring, by the target base station, first transport network layer TNL information from the source base station; and establishing, by the target base station, a connection with the relay node according to the first TNL information. The present invention further provides a base station and a communication system. The present invention may implement the handover of a relay node from a source base station to a target base station, thereby ensuring the establishment of a connection between the relay node and the target base station.

Dependent claims

A relay node handover method, comprising:

receiving, by a target base station, a handover request sent by a source base station serving a relay node;
acquiring, by the target base station, first transport network layer (TNL) information from the source base station;
and
establishing, by the target base station, a connection with the relay node, where the connection is completed using information in the first TNL information, which includes at least one of (a) information for establishing a stream control transmission protocol (SCTP) association between the target base station and the relay node and (b) information for establishing a user plane connection.

A base station, comprising:

a processor, configured to decide to handover a relay node served by the base station to a target base station;
and
a transmitter, configured to send a handover request and first transport network layer (TNL) information to the target base station, so that the target base station establishes a connection with the relay node, where the connection is completed using information in the first TNL information, which includes at least one of (a) information for establishing a stream control transmission protocol (SCTP) association between the target base station and the relay node and (b) information for establishing a user plane connection.

A base station, comprising:

a receiver, configured to receive a handover request sent by a source base station serving a relay node and first transport network layer (TNL) information;
and
a processor, configured to establish a connection with the relay nod, where the connection is completed using information in the first TNL information, which includes at least one of (a) information for establishing a stream control transmission protocol (SCTP) association between the target base station and the relay node and (b) information for establishing a user plane connection.
