Method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving codebook subset restriction bitmap

A method for receiving a codebook subset restriction (CSR) bitmap in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• receiving the CSR bitmap from a base station, the CSR bitmap including bits corresponding to restricted precoding matrix indicators that are not allowed to be reported,
• wherein a first bit to a 16th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 1, a 17th bit to a 32nd bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 2, a 33rd bit to a 36th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 3, a 37th bit to a 40th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 4, a 41st bit to a 44th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 5, a 45th bit to a 48th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 6, a 49th bit to a 52nd bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 7, a 53rd bit of the CSR bitmap is associated with a first precoding matrix indicator for rank 8, a 54th bit to a 69th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 1, a 70th bit to a 85th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 2, a 86th bit to a 101st bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 3, and a 102nd bit to a 109th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 4,
• wherein the 54th bit to the 109th bit of the CSR bitmap are only for rank 1, rank 2, rank 3, and rank 4 of the second precoding matrix.

A base station for transmitting a codebook subset restriction (CSR) bitmap in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals;
• and
• a controller configured to control to generate the CSR bitmap including bits corresponding to restricted precoding matrix indicators that are not allowed to be reported, and to transmit the CSR bitmap to a terminal,
• wherein a first bit to a 16th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 1, a 17th bit to a 32nd bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 2, a 33rd bit to a 36th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 3, a 37th bit to a 40th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 4, a 41st bit to a 44th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 5, a 45th bit to a 48th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 6, a 49th bit to a 52nd bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 7, a 53rd bit of the CSR bitmap is associated with a first precoding matrix indicator for rank 8, a 54th bit to a 69th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 1, a 70th bit to a 85th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 2, a 86th bit to a 101st bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 3, and a 102nd bit to a 109th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 4,
• wherein the 54th bit to the 109th bit of the CSR bitmap are only for rank 1, rank 2, rank 3, and rank 4 of the second precoding matrix.

A terminal for receiving a codebook subset restriction (CSR) bitmap in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals;
• and
• a controller configured to control to receive the CSR bitmap from a base station, the CSR bitmap including bits corresponding to restricted precoding matrix indicators that are not allowed to be reported,
• wherein a first bit to a 16th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 1, a 17th bit to a 32nd bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 2, a 33rd bit to a 36th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 3, a 37th bit to a 40th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 4, a 41st bit to a 44th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 5, a 45th bit to a 48th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 6, a 49th bit to a 52nd bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with first precoding matrix indicators for rank 7, a 53rd bit of the CSR bitmap is associated with a first precoding matrix indicator for rank 8, a 54th bit to a 69th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 1, a 70th bit to a 85th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 2, a 86th bit to a 101st bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 3, and a 102nd bit to a 109th bit of the CSR bitmap are associated with second precoding matrix indicators for rank 4,
• wherein the 54th bit to the 109th bit of the CSR bitmap are only for rank 1, rank 2, rank 3, and rank 4 of the second precoding matrix indicators.
