Abstract
Provided is a wireless power transmission apparatus, including a source unit including a power resonator to transmit a wireless power to a target apparatus, and a near field controller to control a direction of a magnetic field of the power resonator.
Claims12
A wireless power transmission apparatus, comprising:
- a power resonator disposed between a substrate and a target apparatus and configured to transmit wireless power to the target apparatus;
- and
- a material, configured to control a direction of a magnetic field of the power resonator,
- wherein a portion of the material has a High Impedance Surface (HIS) such that a magnetic field of the power resonator is in-phase with the material.

A method of transmitting wireless power, the method comprising:
- transmitting the wireless power from a power resonator to a target apparatus;
- and
- controlling a direction of a magnetic field of the power resonator with a material based on an in-phase characteristic of the magnetic field of the power resonator derived from a High Impedance Surface (HIS) of a portion of the material.
