Abstract
A system and method are disclosed for one-stop shopping for health-care services and related needs. The one-stop shopping system and method provide objective information for the system enrollee to assess and decide on health-care insurance and services. The system and method provide this objective information in a way that is easily accessible by system enrollees in an economical and rapid manner.
Claims19
A single-integrated computer-based system for system enrollees to obtain health-care and non-health-care request-based objective information from third-party sources for taking remedial-based action, comprising:
- (A) a plurality of computer-based units for system enrollees to input information to the single-integrated computer-based system and request information related to health-care and non-health-care information selected from one or more categories for which remedial action is desired, with the categories including
- (1) tracking personal health-care,
- (2) selecting health insurance policies,
- (3) managing health savings accounts,
- (4) maximizing enrollee personal health,
- (5) selecting medical treatments,
- (6) selecting doctors, hospitals, or medical care providers,
- (7) obtaining second opinions,
- (8) obtaining ratings of medical care providers or insurers,
- (9) obtaining pricing of medical care providers or pharmaceuticals, and
- (10) interacting with insurers;
- (B) a central computer for the single-based integrated computer-based system for processing and controlling a flow of a system enrollee requests and retrieve information, with such retrieved information being related at least to health-care and non-health-care for which remedial action is required;
- (C) a first set of data sources electronically connected to the central computer, with the first set of data sources containing rapidly changing content including at least medical treatment information, and further with the first set of data sources being capable of providing retrieved medical treatment information in response to enrollee requests from computer-based units that is a current, up-to-date version of such medical treatment information at a time each enrollee request accesses the first set of data sources;
- (D) a second set of data sources electronically connected to the central computer, with the second set of data sources containing electronic medical records for each of the system enrollees, and further with the second set of data sources having accessibility to an enrollee's electronic medical record by other than the enrollee being controlled by each such enrollee through a computer-based unit for purposes of inputting information to and retrieving the electronic medical record from such second set of data sources;
- and
- (E) a third set of data sources electronically connected to the central computer, with the third set of data sources containing enrollee information for each system enrollee and at least one third party information with respect to each system enrollee including at least enrollee insurance information for each system enrollee, with a specific enrollee through a computer-based unit and at least one third party associated with that specific enrollee through an electronic connection to the central computer controlling accessibility for purposes of inputting information to and retrieving information from such third set of data sources, and with the central computer determining a best health-care treatment for that specific enrollee according to the insurance coverage limits based on the retrieved enrollee insurance information for the specific enrollee.
