Abstract
A core component for a base of a tower assembly includes a body of the core component and a flange. The body has an arcuate outer sidewall and an arcuate inner sidewall. The body includes a hole extending from the outer sidewall to a bottom of the body. The flange extends from the arcuate inner sidewall of the body. The flange includes at least one bore hole configured to receive a post-tensioning tendon.
Claims14
A tower assembly comprising:
- a foundation;
- at least one segment of a tower;
- a plurality of core components located on the foundation each and including
- a body having an arcuate outer sidewall and an arcuate inner sidewall, the body including a hole extending from the outer sidewall to a bottom of the body, and the body including at least one reinforcement member located between the outer sidewall and the inner sidewall, the at least one reinforcement member extending into the foundation;
- a flange extending from the arcuate inner sidewall of the body, the flange including at least one bore hole configured to receive a post-tensioning tendon;
- and
- a plurality of first buttresses each having a first end and a second end, the first end of each first buttress of the plurality of first buttresses being located between an adjacent pair of the plurality of core components.
