Claims17
A surgical system comprising:
- an insertion tool assembly for delivering an implant to a surgical site, wherein the insertion tool assembly comprises:
- a handle assembly;
- a sleeve assembly extending from the handle assembly;
- and
- a gripping tip operably connected to the sleeve assembly, wherein the gripping tip comprises a proximal portion, a body and a distal portion, wherein the distal portion comprises a first jaw portion and a second jaw portion, wherein the first jaw portion includes a first recess formed therethrough and the second jaw portion includes a second recess formed therethrough, wherein the gripping tip further comprises a first drill guide and a second drill guide that extend through the distal portion of the gripping tip;
- and
- an implant for delivery to the surgical site, wherein the implant comprises a spacer having a body formed of a top surface, a bottom surface and an opening that extends through the top surface and the bottom surface, wherein a first portion of the spacer is received within the first recess in the first jaw portion and a second portion of the spacer is received within the second recess in the second jaw portion when the spacer is attached to the insertion tool assembly.
