A gaming surface for playing a game, the gaming surface comprising at least one playing area including a putting green, each putting green comprising:

• a set of material markings on the gaming surface comprising:
• a first sideline and a second sideline, substantially parallel to the first sideline, wherein the first and second sidelines define the playing area;
• a set of substantially parallel and substantially evenly spaced lines extending between the first and second sidelines and forming a grid;
• a first marker corresponding to a starting position for a player to set a golf ball in motion in the general direction of a defined end zone on a side of the gaming surface opposite the first marker;
• and
• a plurality of numerical markings that decrement relative to the first marker, each numerical marking indicating a distance between the end zone and a corresponding line in the set of substantially parallel and substantially evenly spaced lines;
• and
• a set of targets comprising:
• an ultimate target spaced apart from the first marker and generally positioned in the end zone;
• and
• a set of intermediate targets, wherein:
• each intermediate target is spaced apart from the first marker by a different distance;
• the intermediate targets are positioned in an area that is between the first marker and the ultimate target;
• and
• each target in the set of targets has an opening formed therein, the opening forming a hole in the gaming surface adapted to receive a golf ball.
