Abstract
Suggested are biocide compositions, comprising (a) 2-Furoic and/or Tetrahydro-2-furoic acid amides; (b) Biocides and optionally (c) Oil components or co-solvents and/or (d) Emulsifiers. The compositions show high solubility for biocides and improved emulsification properties.

A biocide composition comprising:
- (a) one or more 2-Furoic and/or Tetrahydro-2-furoic acid amides of Formula (Ia) and/or (Ib):
- wherein R1 and R2 independently are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C1-12 linear or branched alkyl groups, or R1-N-R2 forms a morpholine ring system;
- (b) a biocide;
- and
- (c) optionally an oil component or a co-solvent;
- and/or
- (d) an emulsifier.

A method of forming a biocide composition, the method comprising:
- providing one or more 2-Furoic acid and/or Tetrahydro-2-furoic acid amides of Formula (Ia) and/or (Ib):
- wherein R1 and R2 independently are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C1-12 linear or branched alkyl groups, or
- wherein R1-N-R2 forms a morpholine ring system,
- using the one or more 2-Furoic acid and/or Tetrahydro-2-furoic acid amides as a solvent or a dispersant for a biocide, and
- forming the biocide composition from the one or more 2-Furoic acid and/or
- tetrahydro-2-furoic acid amides and the biocide.
