Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH366635. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH366635, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH366635 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH366635.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH366635, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV856723 with a second plant of variety CV197629, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV856723 and CV197629 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121223 and PTA-120299, respectively.
A seed produced by crossing
- (a) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV856723, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV197629,
- (b) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV197629, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV856723, or
- (c) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV197629, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV856723, or a selfed progeny thereof,
- wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a first or second plant further comprising the transgene, and wherein representative seed of said varieties CV856723 and CV197629 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121223 and PTA-120299, respectively, and wherein the transgene is inherited by the seed.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH366635 comprising at least a first single locus conversion, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV856723 with a second plant of variety CV197629, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV856723 and CV197629 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121223 and PTA-120299, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant comprises the single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said at least a first single locus conversion and otherwise comprises essentially all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of hybrid corn variety CH366635 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH366635 comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least a first heritable trait into at least one inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV856723 and variety CV197629 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing and wherein representative samples of seed of variety CV856723 and variety CV197629 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121223 and PTA-120299, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV856723 and CV197629 to produce a plant of hybrid corn variety CH366635 comprising the heritable trait and otherwise comprises essentially all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of hybrid corn variety CH366635 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
