Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH561670. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH561670, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH561670 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH561670.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH561670, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV705149 with a second plant of variety CV684080, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV705149 and CV684080 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121228 and PTA-121490, respectively.
A seed produced by crossing
- (a) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV705149, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV684080,
- (b) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV684080, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV705149, or
- (c) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV684080, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV705149, or a selfed progeny thereof,
- wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a first or second plant further comprising the transgene, and wherein representative seed of said varieties CV705149 and CV684080 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121228 and PTA-121490, respectively, and wherein the transgene is inherited by the seed.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH561670 comprising at least a first single locus conversion, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV705149 with a second plant of variety CV684080, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV705149 and CV684080 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121228 and PTA-121490, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant comprises the single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said at least a first single locus conversion and otherwise comprises essentially all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of hybrid corn variety CH561670 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH561670 comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least a first heritable trait into at least one inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV705149 and variety CV684080 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing and wherein representative samples of seed of variety CV705149 and variety CV684080 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-121228 and PTA-121490, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV705149 and CV684080 to produce a plant of hybrid corn variety CH561670 comprising the heritable trait and otherwise comprises essentially all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of hybrid corn variety CH561670 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
