Abstract
An interactive body weight scale is presented. The body weight scale may have computing and data communication ability to track a user's weight by connecting to a number of different electronic devices. The body weight scale is capable of recording an audio message, converting the audio message to message text, and transmitting the message to a remote social network. The scale may also receive message responses from the remote network and play the messages back based on whether a particular message is a positive message. A scale use indicator provides a reminder for a user to use the body weight scale.
Claims28
A notification system comprising:
- a) a body weight scale having
- i) a plurality of light-emitting indicators on the scale,
- ii) a computer processor, and
- iii) a tangible, non-transitory scale memory;
- b) programming residing on the scale memory, the programming configured to
- i) record a scale use event at a first time,
- ii) after a predetermined time interval from the first time, cause the indicator to produce a visible use-scale light signal,
- iii) after a second predetermined time interval, cause the indicator to alter the use-scale light signal,
- iv) when the scale is used, reset the use-scale light signal,
- v) assign individual light-emitting indicators to a different scale user, and
- vi) cause the individual light-emitting indicators to produce use-scale light signals based on each scale user's independent scale use.
A notification system for a body weight scale comprising:
- a) a scale having a load sensor to weigh users;
- b) a clock within the scale;
- c) memory within the scale for recording a weight, time, and user identifier for a weighing event;
- and
- d) a visual indicator that:
- i) presents a first visual indication when a first predetermined time period has passed since a previous weighing event for a first user;
- ii) presents a second visual indication when a second predetermined time period has passed since a previous weighing event for a second user;
- wherein the first visual indication is a light of a first color, and the second visual indication is a light of a second color.
A notification system for a body weight scale comprising:
- a) a scale having a load sensor to weigh users;
- b) a clock within the scale;
- c) memory within the scale for recording data related to a weighing event;
- and
- d) a visual indicator that presents a visual indication when a time period has passed since a previous weighing event for a user, wherein the visual indicator comprises a light emitting diode positioned so as to aim downward toward a surface on which the scale sits so as to create an aura of light around a bottom of the scale.
A notification system for a body weight scale comprising:
- a) a scale having a load sensor to weigh users;
- b) a clock within the scale;
- c) memory within the scale for recording a weight, time, and user identifier for a weighing event;
- and
- d) a visual indicator that:
- i) presents a first visual indication when a first predetermined time period has passed since a previous weighing event for a first user;
- ii) presents a second visual indication when a second predetermined time period has passed since a previous weighing event for a second user;
- wherein the scale distinguishes between the first user and the second user by analyzing weights of the users.
A notification system comprising:
- a) a body weight scale having
- i) a plurality of light-emitting indicators on the scale,
- ii) a computer processor, and
- iii) a tangible, non-transitory scale memory;
- b) programming residing on the scale memory, the programming configured to:
- i) assign a first light-emitting indicator to a first scale user,
- ii) assign a second light-emitting indicator to a second scale user,
- iii) record scale use events for the first and second scale users,
- iv) after a first-user predetermined time interval since the scale use event for the first user, cause the first light-emitting indicator to produce a first visible use-scale light signal,
- v) after a second-user predetermined time interval since the scale use event for the second user, cause the second light-emitting indicator to produce a second visible use-scale light signal that is visually distinct from the first use-scale light signal.
