Abstract
The present invention is concerned with a photosynthetic scaffold that delivers oxygen and its uses for tissue engineering and the treatment of ischemia.
Claims12
A photosynthetic scaffold for growth of tissue in an organism, the photosynthetic scaffold comprising:
- a carrier matrix;
- and
- photosynthetically active cells configured for direct contact with the tissue of the organism.
A photosynthetic scaffold for growth of tissue in an organism in vivo, the photosynthetic scaffold comprising:
- a carrier matrix;
- and
- photosynthetically active cells supported by the carrier matrix and configured for direct contact with the tissue of the organism.
A photosynthetic scaffold for growth of tissue, comprising:
- photosynthetically active cells;
- and
- a scaffold on which the photosynthetically active cells proliferated wherein the cells are configured for direct contact with the tissue.
