Abstract
A stent able to minimize occurrences of strain and stress concentration in a drug coat layer upon expansive deformation of the stent in a radial direction to avoid the possibility of the drug separating from the stent, includes a stent body and a drug coating layer coated on the outside surface of the stent body so that the thickness of the drug coating layer gradually decreases toward a bent portion of the stent.
Claims10
A stent comprising:
- a cylindrical stent body that includes at least one wavy strut having a plurality of bent portions, and the plurality of bent portions each including an inflection point, and
- a drug coat layer formed by coating a drug on an outside surface of the stent body,
- wherein at least one bent portion is deformed for expansion and contraction as a result of radial outward expansion and radial inward contraction of the stent body,
- wherein the drug coat layer includes a gradually decreasing portion at which a thickness of the drug coat layer gradually decreases stepwise toward the one bent portion such that a valley-shaped gradually decreasing portion centered at the inflection point is formed, and
- wherein the drug coat layer is formed by laminating a plurality of thin film coat layers individually formed by discharging coating liquid including drug and polymer dissolved in solvent from a nozzle while moving the nozzle along the strut, and a coating length of the thin film coat layer of an upper layer from among the plurality of layers is shorter than the coating length of the thin film coat layer of a lower underlying layer so that the gradually decreasing portion is formed in a stairway shape.
