Abstract
In an end-of-hold notification method and apparatus, upon activation of end-of-hold notification from a first communication device, a detector is activated to detect an end-of-hold condition from a second communication device, a first signal is provided to the second communication device to indicate activation of end-of-hold notification, and a user of the first communication device is permitted to record a personalized message. After detection of the end-of-hold condition from the second communication device, a second signal is sent to the second communication device, the second signal including the personalized message recorded by the user of the first communication device.
Claims19
An end-of-hold notification method comprising:
- upon activation of end-of-hold notification from a first communication device:
- activating a detector to detect an end-of-hold condition from a second communication device;
- providing a first signal to the second communication device to indicate activation of end-of-hold notification;
- and
- permitting a user of the first communication device to record a personalized message;
- and
- after detection of the end-of-hold condition from the second communication device, sending a second signal to the second communication device, the second signal including the personalized message recorded by the user of the first communication device.
Apparatus for end-of-hold notification, the apparatus comprising:
- at least one communication interface;
- and
- an end-of-hold notification controller configured to:
- upon activation of end-of-hold notification from a first communication device, activate a detector to detect an end-of-hold condition from a second communication device, provide a first signal to the second communication device over the at least one communication interface to indicate activation of end-of-hold notification, and permit a user of the first communication device to record a personalized message;
- and
- after detection of the end-of-hold condition from the second communication device, send a second signal to the second communication device over the at least one communication interface, the second signal including the personalized message recorded by the user of the first communication device.
