Relating web page change with revisitation patterns

A method performed by a device having at least one processor, the method comprising:

• obtaining change data reflecting content change frequencies with which content of different portions of a web page changes over time;
• obtaining revisitation data reflecting a revisitation frequency for the web page, the revisitation frequency being a frequency with which at least one person revisits the web page;
• and
• identifying a specific portion of the web page with an associated content change frequency that corresponds to the revisitation frequency, the web page having at least one other portion with another content change frequency that does not correspond to the revisitation frequency.

A device comprising:

• one or more processor-accessible tangible media comprising processor-executable instructions;
• and
• one or more processors, wherein the processor-executable instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, direct the one or more processors to:
• perform an analysis of change frequencies with which content of different portions of a web page changes over time and a revisitation frequency with which a user revisits the web page;
• and
• based on the analysis, identify a specific portion of the web page with an associated content change frequency that matches the revisitation frequency, the web page having another portion with another content change frequency that does not match the revisitation frequency.
