Abstract
An energy conversion system comprises a plurality of concentrically arranged combustion chambers for passing incinerated waste plastic fuel along a generally S-shaped combustion path into a discharge section for thermally coupling the incinerated waste plastic fuel to a fluid material to facilitate an energy conversion process. The combustion chambers are arranged concentrically around a single rotatable feed mechanism and the combustion chambers are in fluid communication with one another. The fluid material is contained within a boiler in fluid communication with the combustion chambers for heating the fluid material to facilitate the energy conversion process.
Claims8
An energy conversion system, comprising:
- a plurality of concentrically arranged combustion chambers for passing incinerated waste plastic fuel along a generally S-shaped combustion path into a discharge section for thermally coupling the incinerated waste plastic fuel to a fluid material to facilitate an energy conversion process;
- and a single rotatable feed mechanism;
- wherein said plurality of combustion chambers include a first combustion chamber, a second combustion chamber, and a third combustion chamber for defining a combustion unit having a transition space between said first combustion chamber and said second combustion chamber and into said discharge section;
- wherein said single rotatable feed mechanism includes an elongated shaft having a lumen extending along its longitudinal length;
- and wherein said lumen is provided with a first set of orifices in the transition space between said first combustion chamber and said second combustion chamber, and a second set of orifices in said discharge section for facilitating the discharge of air into the transition space to accelerate the burning of the waste plastic fuel passing through said combustion unit.
