Abstract
The invention relates to the use of selective phosphodiesterase 9A (PDE9A) inhibitors for producing medicaments for improving perception, concentration, cognitive processes, learning and/or memory.
Claims14
A method for treating an impairment of perception, concentration, cognitive processes, learning and/or memory in a patient, which impairment is a consequence of Alzheimer's disease which comprises administering to the patient an effective amount of a selective PDE9A inhibitor compound,
- wherein the selective PDE9A inhibitor inhibits human PDE9A with an IC50 of less than 10 μM, and
- wherein the selective PDE9A inhibitor inhibits human PDE9A more strongly than it inhibits human PDE1C, PDE2A, PDE3B, PDE4B, PDE5A, PDE7B, PDE8A, PDE10A and PDE11.
