Abstract
The present invention embraces a recombinant prokaryotic host cell containing nucleic acids encoding an eukaryotic UDP-GaINAc:UDP-GaINAc polypeptide transferase and expressing an UDP-GIcNAc C-4 epimerase and methods for using the same to produce an O-glycosylated protein.
Claims7
A recombinant prokaryotic host cell comprising nucleic acids encoding an eukaryotic UDP-GalNAc:UDP-GalNAc polypeptide transferase, one or more exogenous glycosidases, and an UDP-GlcNAc C-4 epimerase, wherein the one or more exogenous glycosidases are expressed under inducible conditions and wherein the one or more exogenous glycosidases comprise galactosidases, sialidases, fucosidases or alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminidases.
