## Abstract

The invention relates to a water-insoluble reaction product of an oil-soluble high carbon polar modified polymer and a polyamine.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A water-insoluble half acid and half amide crosslinked reaction product comprising (1) at least one oil-soluble high carbon polar modified polymer comprising at least one C22-C40 monomer and modified with at least one hydrophilic unit, and having a weight-average molecular weight of less than or equal to 30000 g/mol and a crystallinity of 8% to 60% and (2) at least one polyamine having an average molecular weight of from 500 to 200,000, wherein the reaction product forms a matrix capable of entrapping water.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The reaction product of claim 1, wherein the oil-soluble high carbon polar modified polymer is a C26-C28 polar modified wax.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The reaction product of claim 2, wherein the C26-C28 polar modified wax comprises maleic anhydride units.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The reaction product of claim 3, wherein the polyamine is a polyethyleneimine.

### Claim 5

A composition comprising water and a water-insoluble half acid and half amide crosslinked reaction product comprising (1) at least one oil-soluble high carbon polar modified polymer comprising at least one C22-C40 monomer and modified with at least one hydrophilic unit, and having a weight-average molecular weight of less than or equal to 30000 g/mol and a crystallinity of 8% to 60% and (2) at least one polyamine having an average molecular weight of from 500 to 200,000, wherein the reaction product forms a matrix capable of entrapping water,
wherein water is entrapped within the matrix.

The composition of claim 5, wherein the oil-soluble high carbon polar modified polymer is a C26-C28 polar modified wax.

The composition of claim 6, wherein the C26-C28 polar modified wax comprises maleic anhydride units.

The composition of claim 7, wherein the polyamine is a polyethyleneimine.
