## Abstract

The present invention relates to methods of treating fibromyalgia by administering a therapeutically-effective combination-dosage of famciclovir and celecoxib. The invention is also related to methods of treating functional somatic syndromes by administering a therapeutically-effective combination-dosage of famciclovir and celecoxib.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method to treat a subject susceptible to or afflicted with one or more functional somatic syndrome conditions, the method comprising administering to the subject a co-acting combination of famciclovir and celecoxib therapeutically-effective to treat at least one functional somatic syndrome condition selected from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome wherein each of famciclovir and celecoxib is administered in a dosage amount co-acting in combination to provide therapeutically-effective treatment of at least one functional somatic syndrome condition.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the treatment-subject has fibromyalgia condition and a gastrointestinal disorder arising from HSV-1 gastrointestinal-tract infection.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the therapeutically-effective treatment provides an improved adverse event profile.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein one or more functional somatic syndrome conditions are fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, coexistent in the subject.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein one or more functional somatic syndrome conditions are fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome, coexistent in the subject.
