Abstract
This invention relates to a liquid-filled tetrahedral package having a longitudinal fin seal and having a first transverse seal on one end of the package and a second transverse seal on the opposite end of the package, wherein the first and second transverse seals are substantially perpendicular to one another.
Claims13
A liquid-filled tetrahedral package, said package being comprised of a strip-shaped sheet of packaging material having opposed longitudinal edges, an exterior surface, and an interior surface, said package having a longitudinal fin seal and having a first transverse seal on one end of said package and a second transverse seal on an opposite end of said package, said second transverse seal being substantially perpendicular to said first transverse seal, and wherein the packaging material is a multi-layer film structure comprised of an outermost layer of polymer film, a central layer of polymer film wherein the central layer is surrounded on each side by a film layer, and a meltable sealant film layer that forms the innermost layer of the package.
A liquid-filled tetrahedral package, said package being comprised of a strip-shaped sheet of packaging material having opposed longitudinal edges, an exterior surface, and an interior surface, said package having a longitudinal fin seal and having a first transverse seal on one end of said package and a second transverse seal on an opposite end of said package, said second transverse seal being substantially perpendicular to said first transverse seal, and wherein the packaging material is a multi-layer coated paper structure comprised of an outermost layer of coated paper, a tie layer connecting the coated paper layer to a barrier film, and a meltable sealant film layer that forms the innermost layer of the package.
